National Ovarian Cancer Coalition

Strengthening Salesforce for Scale, Security, and Sustainability

Overview

The National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC) partnered with Arkus to transform their Salesforce environment into a secure, scalable platform that supports both day-to-day operations and long-term growth.

The Challenge

NOCC’s existing Salesforce instance was not optimized for their evolving needs. Teams relied on spreadsheets for regional reporting, users had overly broad system access, and data was difficult to manage across local markets.

As their organization grew, they also needed more advanced capabilities—like structured permissions, support for staff and volunteer roles, and better system governance—while onboarding new CRM users.

The Solution

Arkus worked with NOCC in phases to deliver both immediate improvements and long-term scalability:

  • Redesigned user permissions to align with persona groups, reducing risk
  • Optimized NPSP to better track donors, volunteers, and constituents
  • Built reports and dashboards to replace manual processes
  • Delivered end user training and documentation to support adoption and independence

Importantly, Arkus maximized NOCC’s existing Salesforce licensing, avoiding unnecessary costs while expanding functionality.

The Impact

  • Improved efficiency: Reduced reliance on spreadsheets and manual reporting
  • Stronger governance: Introduced secure, persona-based access and clearer data controls
  • Staff empowerment: Successful training with enablement of new users
  • Measurable ROI:
    • Protected implementation costs by leveraging existing licenses
    • Saved staff time through automation and streamlined processes
    • Accelerated time-to-value with a phased, strategic approach

The Partnership

“Working with the Arkus team has been amazing! They are highly responsive and dedicated to finding the solution that works for you as a client. We needed a solution to build permissions, staff vs. volunteer profiles, view windows, and inter-company hierarchies while also onboarding new to CRM users. Arkus found a solution for us that used our original licensing, saving our organization on staff time, implementation time, and funds. Their non-profit expertise and direct industry knowledge streamlined our project every step of the way.

As a small non-profit, we asked for the Arkus teams' guidance for training/onboarding; they provided excellent use cases and knocked it out of the park!! We closed out the project with transitions that gave us the capability and knowledge to succeed in managing the new solution going forward. This was an excellent project from start to finish. We are excited to continue our Salesforce roadmap with them for many future projects! Thanks, Kim, Cassidy, Jon & the Arkus team!!”
